In addition, when customers can save a special report onto their computers, it gains extra value. It’s on customers’ computers for access at any time. On the other hand, email can easily be deleted. Take an extra step and have a nice cover made for your free special report to further increase perceived value.
So when do you write a free report?
As often as you can. You can write free reports around a product or products you’re promoting to your target market. Let’s say you’re promoting a “learn to read” program to parents of young children. Write a report that talks about how important it is to read to children and how early reading helps build vocabulary and self esteem. Add reading improvement statistics that show the benefit of the reading program. Include stories about children whose reading improved because they used your program.
Note that this shouldn’t be a “sales pitch.” Instead, focus on providing value to your customers and give them the information they want. Include your affiliate link to a recommended reading program several times in your report. You may also want to include other affiliate links for similar products of use. Don’t include too many links. Make sure as well that the products you do recommend are all related.
How long should your free report be?
It depends on the product you’re promoting and the information you need to share. Some special free reports are quite long, while others are shorter. Roughly 15 to 17 pages are usually adequate, but it will depend on the target market and the information they want.
Write a free special report for a great way to gain exposure for affiliate products you believe in.
