Be very careful, however, not to start comparing yourself to other WAHM. Once you start direct comparisons, it is a slippery slope. If you start telling yourself that life would be perfect if you could do as well as the WAHM next door, everything would be perfect, you need to take a step back and refocus. She may be running herself ragged to make one more sale while her children are eating dinner without her.
It is absolutely essential that you are confident in who you are and what you are doing. Your situation is unique and you need to realize that as well. After all, the WAHM next door may have children is school full time and can concentrate on her business for 6 to 7 hours a day before she even has to think about fixing dinner. You may have a newborn and a toddler vying for every ounce of your affection. You have to make sure the goals you set for yourself are realistic for your situation. After all, WAHM next door may be wishing her work schedule wasn’t so demanding so she could spend the same amount of time with her children as you do with yours.
While it is normal to wonder if your business is going as well as it could or if you should be making more money, don’t let it dominate your thoughts. Look for someone who has been where you are now and are willing to share their expertise. Just remember that any advice you get is a guideline only, not rules. Do what works best for you to reach your goals. Concentrate on building your business and enjoy being a WAHM.
