Overview: This intriguing book is all about how to living to work rather than work to live. Packed with different ways to deal with your work time so that you are able to make more money and enjoy more of life. It primarily accomplishes this by showing you ways to outsource your work giving a better return for you.

Review:  If your primary working hours are at an outside job or if you're involved with a home business this book if for you.  I have a work from home business.  I also wanted the ability to spend more time with my kids and family.  But like many people who have their work at home, family was getting the lower priority with my time.  I could not figure out how to get myself organized so that I could separate myself from by business.  It did not matter what I tried, there was not enough time in a day for me to accomplish the work which needed to be done and still have quality time left in a day to enjoy.

Thanks to what I learned from this book now I can.  This book is loaded with advice on ways you can change your life allowing you to enjoy time at both work and play.  Don't expect it to be a get rich quick kind of book.  But rather, it is a guide on ways you can be your own boss with an online business and yet still have time for you and those close to you.

Simple ideas, like email. If you're like most people, every time you sit down in front of your computer the very first thing you do is open that dreaded email. You then leave it open on your desktop, checking it every time you receive a new email notification.  I no longer do this.  As a result of reading this book I now simply check my email first thing in the day and later at night when I'm finished with the computer for the day. Seems simple, but it works!

This book also gave me some ideas on how to start my own business.  More importantly it helped me along the way with different ideas and helpful suggestions on ways to outsource my business related work.  By taking advantage of outsourcing I can still make money but more importantly I have a shorter workday.

The main thing to take from this book is that it is loaded with many different ideas; you simply need to read the book to find the ideas which work for you.  I read it and re-read it several times, applying different ideas and concepts each time until I found the right balance for me and my life.  The end result is that I now work  and enjoy every day to the fullest.

The book even has helpful ideas on how you can save money when traveling. The ideas this book gives you for  living and traveling for free will simply amaze you.  It did for me and I am going to try these ideas out to see how well it works.

Everyone needs to read The 4 Hour Work Week. It is easy to read, understand and follow. If you take from it only 1 idea you will be better off than before you read it.

Criticism: Several spots in the book I wish the author had dug into more depth and detail.  However, this does leave open the opportunity for 4-Hour Work Week Part 2.
